Great video
Accidents will (and have) happen. The Marcellus has been know about for decades. Same with horizontal drilling and fracking. But it took rising gas prices to make it economical. Before then, there was still a lot of gas coming from our area - coal gas and other seams. Accidents happened then and will happen again. That’s the price we pay for energy independence.
There has to be adequate oversight to minimize the environmental impact because most problems are from shoddy work - the technology exists for safe, clean gas removal from the Marcellus.
And no one forces you to sell your mineral rights. If you don’t want them drilling under your property, decline the offers. Of course, your gas will migrate to your neighbors’ property and in a decade or two, they can rework your neighbor’s well.
