GROM Audio Adapter

Anyone use one of these? Really thinking its my best option of putting an audio usb port, in my car, still using the stock radio and steering wheel controls.

Never used it but it looks legitimate

Looking at their list, it looks like they’re a little confused… Wtf is a TSX Type S?

Yeah not sure, maybe the sportwagon or the v6 ones?

The company seems to have good reviews of their customer service. I think I may go ahead and just try it.

DO NOT GET A GROM!

Here is my review of the USA Spec. I had the Grom for my car and it SUCKED. The only benefit of it was the USB.

Get a USA Spec. and enjoy high-quality sound with full iPod control.

I got mine from Audio Obsessions off Central Ave.

EDIT: Found my old Grom video…

I would only be using the USB and rarely the Aux in line. I have a Zune, and will not support Apple anything :lol

I want this for my TSX and maybe TL, so the TL is not a problem as it is XM equipped, the TSX is not, making the Grom a better choice it would seem. What was so bad about the Grom? I want CD quality sound, but being able to use flash drives, and not have to burn multiple cds. The TL aupports DVD-A and I have a program to make those, and they hold much more than a burnt CD, remember I want to maintain stock radio, so Im really looking to outfit the TSX. I just rambled a lot.

Cheap flimsy connections (shoddy build quality) and poor sound quality. Also, USA Spec interfaces with OEM radio and steering wheel controls. Grom did not IIRC. That’s what made me, personally, switch.

I agree the USB function was a nice feature but…in the end I just got an iPod. Happy I did.

I dunno if this is applicable to your car but with my Fit I just got an audio jack and some ethernet cable (CAT-6) or something like that. It had a factory audio jack option that the base didnt come with and its the only option that I really wanted. But I soldered the ethernet cable to the back of the head unit at the AUX output then soldered it to the audio jack and mounted it. Then for usb just used a USB Adaptor that plugged into the cig lighter for charging. Plugged in the MP3 player hit the AUX button and it worked like a charm. The sound quality from the cable is surprisingly clear too.

Disregard my previous post. I missed the part where you want the USB for music off a flash drive.
