Well guys, I’m pretty much gutted. :cry My new wheels showed up from UPS today and they don’t fit. Unfortunately, the spoke design just won’t allow me to run a spacer either, meaning I am SOL as far as these wheels are concerned. I don’t want to run longer wheel studs either, so it is what it is.
The tires aren’t included, I’ll be keeping those myself. The rims look great! I notice a couple minor scratches that are only on the very surface, nothing has gone down to the primer/metal.
They are a dual bolt pattern - 4x114.3 and 4x100. Offset is 42, weight is 15.5 lbs per wheel! I’m thinking about $850 bucks or so, replacement value is around 550 US. Don’t think there are too many of these in Canada. The pics aren’t great, I might try to take better ones tomorrow. The middles are a medium grey and they have a polished lip around the edge. Lemme know what you think…
Anyone who wants to see one in person and check fitment, I can bring one out to the NECC meet on Sunday. (Can’t fit too many in the car.
Still_Slow, I’d be happy to split shipping with you. They’re of no use to me and I’d rather see them go to someone around here than deal with unknown jackoffs on 780 Tuners.
If you’re really interested, I’d be happy to borrow my neighbors digi cam and take some pics of them so you know EXACTLY what you’re getting.
It’s a shame because they look so cool, but they’re just NOT going to fit - no matter how much finegaling I try to do.
so the only reason that they wont fit is because of the brakes?I am going to put them on my S14 and I dont want to end up in the same boat your in.I am interested and some pics would be cool.Iam scared to see what the shipping would be to NB.
Yeah, the Spec V with the Brembo brakes has huge problems with wheels fitments because the stock offset is so huge. I can fit these wheels to the back without problems, but the big Brembo caliper in front is around 3 times the size of the rears, and that’s what is interfering with the fitment. If my car didn’t have the brembos, these wheels would fit no problem.
Not too sure about tonight and tomorrow for the pics, but on Sunday I should be able to get them out, clean them up nicely and take some pictures in the daylight so you get a really good idea what they look like. I’ll also mount them to the rear of my car so you can see what they look like in place on a car.
Not sure what shipping would cost to NB, but it only cost me around $110 Canadian to ship them up from the US, and since you’d just be getting the wheels, you’d only have two boxes weighing around 33 pounds each. I’d be suprised if it was more than $50 to you if we split the shipping. If you wanna PM me your address, I can see if I could get a quote to you so we have a better idea.
Just did a quickie quote on UPS.CA and as long as you don’t need them RIGHT NOW, UPS Standard service would cost ~$67 total to an address in Fredericton. That’s the whole price, so you’d pay half of that.
I can’t really justify the spacers, Matt. I’d have to install longer wheel studs on the front and then run a 1" spacer minimum to clear them, so all in all they’re not worth it. The 5zigen Fn01R-c’s only weigh a half pound more per wheel and they fit with no problem, so I’ll likely go with them.
