hand controls for cars

where can hand controls be bought for cars? my buddy is in need of hand controls for his girls car. something that doesn’t require major mods and can easily be removed when she is healed.

When I was in the Cell phone install business about 10 yrs ago, we used to do alot of work for a company called Mobility in N Versailles/N Hundington area. I remember the main guy we dealt with was Jim. They did full conversions for handicapped drivers.

PM SoLowExtreme (Chris Guffy) to see where his work was done in his S10. He might know of some other places.

i figured guffy would chime in when he sees it

BLACBURNS does that kind of stuff, the one down in trentom, thats were my dad got his hand controls for his camaro

here’s a little info… http://www.drivingsystems.com/menoxsystem.html

cars should have a usb port so we can plug in our sweet ass joysticks from our pc’s or xboxes/playstations and drive.

Keystone coachwprks in bethel park, thats what they specialize in and they are very fair on the prices

i know this may sound dumb but you might wanna check if thats legal. i’m not sure if you have to be deemed handicapped to be able to use hand controls. i know sterring wheels noobs used to be illegal unless you were handicapped. A kid i played baseball with had a father that was a double amputee and the controls were easily removed when someone else had to drive the vehical. If you are injured in a fashion that is temporary, driving may not be in the best interest. a lot of people that use hand controls have been doing so and probably learned to drive a car that way. I’m sure its not the easiest thing to just learn like that especially if ur handicap is a recent injury.

tru…i 4got about that  …on my DL its marked driving equipment & automatic…and i learned to drive with this stuff too

chick out on mosside blvd just across the bridge from pittcairn and trafford there is a place… they do ok work… but i think its $$$ though
