Love it or hate it, Chris Rado’s fwing-equipped Scion delivered a 1:22.623 lap - destroying the competition in Unlimited FWD and shattering notions of what a front drive car is capable of. Apparently this was the fastest lap time ever recorded by a FWD vehicle at Willow Springs and no doubt this car will be even faster once Chris and the team get the boost issues figured out.
As long as you have the power to overcome the drag more downforce is always good. However they could probably gain the same amount downforce using other aero elements on the body of the car itself (see DTM) without having a retarded looking picnic table hanging over the front end. However that takes analysis and testing ($$$).
Next he needs to use the split wing that adjusts its angle of attack through corners and during braking.
