HATTIESBURG, MISS. — Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club on U.S. 98 are readying to open for business after the Biloxi Police Department bomb squad determined a suspicious object found in the parking lot this afternoon was not a bomb.
Officials said the object was a homemade bass speaker.
The Hattiesburg Police Department was called to the scene around 1 p.m. after a Wal-Mart employee discovered a metal cylinder in the parking lot.
Employees began re-entering the businesses after 5 p.m. and the stores were preparing to allow customers to enter.
