If by quality you mean strength, then it’s not really a justifying factor for around 5x the price of competition on an item that rarely breaks.

Phones break all the time, but if there were two phones that looked identical but one was “stronger” but 5 times the price, you’d probably still take the risk and buy the cheaper one.

One of the biggest selling points of CCW’s besides looks and width was the their rarity and that they had an instant “wow” factor because people knew what they cost. The second people start debating or questioning whether it’s the real thing or the knockoff the owner will lose his interest. The owner will just move on to some other “exotic” good looking wheel that doesn’t have a knockoff.

People buy CCWs mainly because of their customization. Hence Complete Custom Wheels. CCWs are played so I doubt anyone gets them for the rarity factor. Anyone who buys these will be jumping on a played bandwagon for the wrong reasons.=]

XXR wheels are actually pretty strong haha, I would buy these if I was in the market for bandwagon wheels

Yeah. Well I wouldn’t buy them but CCW Race barrels have a greater chance of cracking then an XXR wheel has of bending and actually effecting you, IMO.

CCW’s aren’t even that expensive for a multi piece wheel. Yea they are more money than your shitty knockoff wheel that’s on every civic but they are proven quality race wheels. On and off the track.

They are also made in the USA and their customer service is excellent.

Seriously. CCWs are extremely reasonably priced for the quality, service, and customization. I’m not saying everyone should buy them but, geez, if they seem too expensive for you, you might be in the wrong game.

I do hate on knockoffs. Cheap wheels suck. I don’t understand why people cheap out on wheels. Shitty wheels and tires are what $1200 or so? You can get a decent set of Voks for like $1800-$2K. Why not just save up the extra money?

best post ITT. I watch people spend more on fake wheels while I’m buying real wheels in cool specs for less. It’s funny but I don’t complain because more sick wheels for me. I bought LMs for less than 500 bucks once, Rial Type As for less than $400, RS’s for less than 600, ACS type III for less than 300. I’m not giving exact prices because they might make people a little uneasy:lol

Old cars suck. I don’t understand why people cheap out on cars. Shitty cars are like what $12,000 or so? You can get a decent used Porsche for like $18,000-$20,000. Why not just save the extra money?

I had some crappy cars as some of my first cars. Every car had some sort of issue. Hit a tree and the car stopped running, didn’t look as good anymore, etc.

I buy old wheels all the time, ftw. I also love old cars. Just because a car (or anything for that matter) is old, doesn’t mean it’s a replica. I understand your analogy but it doesn’t hold much ground.

Engineering/Manufacturing costs money.

Actually this is the best post ITT. lol I like you. This is the most important reason not to support replica companies. If you can’t respect this than this industry is going to go downhill. If you look at Japan for example. People only support authentic parts because they take pride in it and have respect for what goes into making them. Support those doing it right, not companys copying designs and doing it the cheapest way possible because they know Americans are cheap and would rather fake the funk.

Quality - I’ve had a few “cheap” brand of wheels hold up to what New York roads have to offer with absolutely NO problems.

Appeal or “wow factor”- They dont really wow me, but ofcourse this point of the wheel is purely opinion.

Function - They’re not some really super light wheels are they?

Some food for thought guys. Not trying to dive into the fake vs. real argument, as you can see I argued both points. I will never buy another high end race wheel for a street car again. I also won’t be buying some XXRs so I can pretend to have a Complete Custom Wheel either:lol
