headlight removal

How do I remove the pop up headlights. Ive loctaed about 4 or 5 screws that need to come out. I was wondering if there was anything else.

thanks

are you trying to take out the bulb or remove the whole pop up unit?

if you pop your light up, take off 4 screws around the plastic on both sides, 2 on each side, than you will see more stuff inside if u cant figure it out, i dont suggest taking apart the whole assembly, if u wanna change the bulb its from behind

the whole unit needs to come out.

Like matty said, you cannot remove the bulb.

You have to replace the whole assembly.

  • Remove the 4 screws for the plastic cover

  • Remove the 2 adjusting screws for the assembly

  • Remove the spring for the assembly

  • Unplug the assembly

  • Separate the bezel and rear bracket to remove the headlight

  • Replace with new headlight in reverse order.

for silvia light prep, undo the plastic sheild

2 bolts on top facing the sky
4-5 bolts holding the complete assembly to the rad support,

should come out in 1 nice piece motors and all

2 plugs, lamp+motor

thanks guys,
exactly what i need to know.

On an S13, the pop-up headlights are a sealed unit. The bulb is soldered in and sealed permanently.

the sealed unit is the bulb

I think we’re getting ourselves confussed.

By assembly, I mean the reflector. Which contains the bulb.

What I meant is that you cannot just replace the small bulb, like you can with a sidemarker.
