I’ve ridden in one a few times and I sort of agree with MPD on this. They are far less then you’d expect. The ride was sluggish and surprisingly not smooth, despite the numbers on paper. I actually like the way the car looks for a DD, but I feel to get it to a point of my enjoying to drive it would be far too costly.
For 15k, I’d definitely be looking elsewhere in the automobile world.
GL though, I’ll keep my eyes open for any for sale I see…
THIS THREAD IS NOT ABOUT WHETHER YOU LIKE THE FUCKING CAR OR NOT.
If you have a legitimate connection or know of a place where these cars are more readily available, please post. Your 2 cents on what you think of the car means absolutely nothing to me. So take it to another thread.
How far from local are you willing to go? There are a lot of these elsewhere. I was looking a few weeks ago. Found a lot in Ohio and PA on Auto Trader.
AWD is a complete waste of time, RWD and snow tires does just fine. Though my statement is incorrect if you are going to “push it” in the winter. But let’s be honest, if you’re looking at an extremely bland Volvo, you’re probably not going to be pushing it. :mamoru: The components in the Volvo interiors just SCREAM late 90’s ford.
It’s totally stock, form everything I noticed. The stickers are hard to read, but the car is a 1-owner example, and looks to be a a highway driven queen. The rear seats look as is they have never been sat in. Mileage doesn’t concern me too much, knowing I can step in this car for cheap. I mean, I figure it this way. I really don’t need a PERFECT car in every way, as it will be a DD in WNY. The weather alone will take a huge toll, whether the car is mint, or slightly less mint…in the end, both cars would look the same after just one winter here, haha.
Plus, a lot of maint. has likely been done by it’s mileage now, and even if it hasn’t been, I can deal with it myself, as needed, no problem. Plus, by me doing it, I’ll know what’s been done, and that it will be done right, either by myself, or my buddy Joe, who was a Certified. Volvo Tech. for years. Either way, I’m really stoked!
