for the lazy:

never knew much about these cars, this was pulled from nctd:

"The S60R is another animal altogether. It was designed and developed by Hans Nilsson, who’s been a Volvo engineer for 26 years and races his own Volvo in 24-hour endurance races. Volvo let him alone to do what he knows how to do, and he did such a bang-up job they now call him the “Czar of R.”

The twin-turbo engine makes 300 horsepower, the big vented discs use four-piston Brembo calipers, and there is a close-ratio six-speed gearbox. We tested the S60R on the road course at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and it was a perfect day in a perfect car. The balance is brilliant, the engine train-like, the gearbox bulletproof and the brakes bomb-proof.

The suspension is what’s really special. Volvo says it’s the most advanced active chassis on the market. A button on the dash allows three settings, Comfort, Sport and Advanced, which mostly address the shock stiffness and engine management. There is a distinct difference between the three settings, and each performs exactly as defined by the buttons. No more compromises with the ride of your high-performance car. You have a suspension that’s soft when you want it to be, and stiff when you need it to be. Up to 500 times a second, sensors measure things like longitudinal, lateral and vertical acceleration of the car relative to road conditions and driving actions, and use this information to constantly adjust the ride. But the real leap with this technology is that sensors from the suspension, wheels, throttle, steering and brakes all communicate with each other before the various instantaneous settings are determined, including stability and traction control."

17K Awww WTF!

ugh… seriously do it!

that’s not the one for 17, that’s just a pic for lazy peeps…

i clicked the link…

awww wtf was for 17 is a sweet price for what you are getting

I test drove two S60R’s over the last few weeks. They are great and I am sure you will like it. I decided against one but only because it is a second car so power and handling took a backseat to economy and overall comfort :frowning:

I’m with ILC, I did not know these bitches were that cheap. This is something that I may have to look into a little more…

These things are fairly reliable correct?

These cars are really cool. And I like the Scottsdale Lotus dealer in the background…

Do it.

They’re really nice vehicles.

(just paint that silver mesh! please.)

Oh hai guise my name is B and I didnt read the post. Since it says that that is not a pic of the actual car and there is an autotrader link to the actual car.

BTW have you driven one yet? They are great but the friggin turning radius was terrible. But that is my only complaint other then that I loved it.

I looked at these for a while.

Nice cars.

Cons that I noticed:
Haldex AWD system is lackluster
Bad turning radius
Expensive to modify

Check out Evolve. http://www.evolvecars.com/site/index.php

Awesome car. I’ve always been a fan. I’d rather have a V70R with a manual. hot.

always loved the s60r… beautiful lines  very similar to the commodores

I have always wanted one of these since they came out…but I am with jagermeister…EXPENSIVE to modify. however, Evolve is fucking awesome.

What sort or real mpg do these get?

Gorgeous cars. That last V pic is insanely cherry.

more than you can afford pal.

The R is a nice settup. but what does it weigh?

They were close to 40k new IIRC. I would love to own one of those.

weighs a ton, i think like 4400-4500 lbs. i’m not too worried about modifying as this is going to be a dd, cougarspeed’s comment bothers me a little though. you’re worried that it wouldn’t make a good dd? what was not comfortable about it? or are you just worried that you’d want to mod the hell out of it?

i’ve had coupes for the past like 5 years now and i want to step into something bigger with 4 doors, and still have something that will put a smile on my face to drive. i’m not into audis really, and this seems to be the most bang for the buck.

anyone else have any more input?

The car was amazing I didn’t mean it like that at all. But I already have one car that is 600+hp so for my second car all I wanted was something lux and comfortable to drive. Out of the 8-10 cars I test drove the S60R came in second. To be honest if I could have gotten a better deal on one locally I would have bought one. If I didnt have a second car that is a modified street/track car it would have been my first choice hands down.
