Should be in your price range and from what I hear all four resorts are very nice, unfortunately Dom and I have yet to vacation there.
I forgot to mention that the Couples resorts are all inclusive and they have specials all the time, so look for discounts under the specials offers link.
X2. My wife and I sailed RCI Seranade of the Seas over Thanksgiving week and it was friggen awesome. We left out of San Juan, PR and hit the ports of St. Thomas, St. Maarten, Antigua, St. Lucia, and Barbados.
I was just talking to a girl at work about that…same exact cruise. Awesome deal, was like $1,300 total per person…which isnt too bad for a 7 day cruise going to those locations. But we did the cruise thing before and we loved it but liked the all inclusive resorts a little better. It really adds up when your booze is included in the cost.
Yeah I was pretty afraid of coming home with a $800+ bar bill too so I came came up with a plan ahead of time. I brought a 1/2 gallon of captain and a 1/2 gallon of vodka plus a case of coke and a tube of crystal light lemonade to mix with. I packed a collapsible cooler and asked our steward to keep it full of ice, which he did. I also bought a ‘bubba keg’ and filled it with whatever I wanted and carried it around in a backpack if we were out on the ship or at port. I actually preferred to chill on our balcony most of the time we weren’t off the ship, I brought my mp3 player and some small powered speakers. I never had to buy a drink on the ship the whole time.
I looked at them and they are a little out of our budget this year. I heard great things about them as well.
Yeah I pretty much did the same thing when I went on a cruise. Brought a bottle of 151 and a botle of vodka. It was that or pay $6 per drink which adds up fast when you start drinking @ like 10 AM.
So I started checking out vacation options for the GF and I. I found out that Jet Blue just launched a travel site: http://www.jetblue.com/vacations/index.html. they have some pretty decent deals going on right now. Check it out!

Thats a pretty damn good deal for airfare for two people, 4 nightsat the Venetian, plus a car. I may be booking this for me and the old lady for this May
Now the Venetian is nice and all, but I’m sure a better price can be had. I was out there 2 weeks ago at the Luxor for 4 days/4 nights and paid 1/3rd of that price. Check out vegas.com for some deals.
two things…

dude… i’m not going to be a dick… well yeah i am, id on’t give a shit… if you honestly just compared the luxor to the venetian then obviously you’re not a seasoned vegas tourist… the luxor is a fucking dump FYI… i mean sure the golden nugget and shit downtown is garbage, but on the strip, the luxor might be the worst at this rate? being that cirus is gone and i think the sahara is gone?? anyway… venetian is nicer so is every other hotel around lol… i haven’t gone to vegas and paid for my room ever, so i can’t comment on the price.

i guess a ‘vacation’ is different to all people… it’s surprising to me that a vacation to some is only thought of as resorts and made up places… sure cancun is great, until you go a few miles out of the ‘resort’ area… like the peoeple that go to argentina to live it up, but have to shuttle in steel walled busses from site to site because of the ‘real’ argentina…lol… comical.
there are tons of places to go and visit that aren’t a resort…many places i could recommend but since you’re ideas are all pretty much junk to me, i’m guessing my suggestions may appear to be the same (which i can assure you they are not).
go to vegas and have fun, rent a car and drive around…
I like the resorts…mostly the all inclusive. For $1,000 I have all my food, Booze, room, airfair, and a ton of activities paid for. It is really hard to beat per $$$. But you have me curious though, any other ideas that you can recommend?
If you’re in Vegas who the fuck cares what hotel you sleep at? If you wanna goto the Venetian walk there and save $700 on the trip to stay at a cheaper hotel.
Basically what I was getting at by the above post.
Depends what you are looking for. You hit up Punta Cana and as far as the Caribbean goes, it can’t be beat.
I personally fell in love with the Caymen Islands. I was just there on a cruise last week and it was just fabulous.
If I was going to go somewhere right now and fly there, it would be here.
St. Maarten. I’ve heard absolutely fabulous things about it. My mom has been to Aruba and raves about it as well, but you said that it is out of your price range so there is no reason in mentioning it again.
Like the above picture shows, hope you aren’t scared of flying at all. All the landings into Princess Juliana come in that way and fly directly over a beach that is about 10 yards from the beginning of the runway. If your curious just about how the planes do it, there are tons of videos on youtube about it. Pretty wild to see a 747 about 50 ft above peoples heads.
have you been to vegas?
from experience, you spend the most amount of time, by far, in your own resort. so make it a nice one, especially swimming pools.
Me and my wife did the Royal Caribbean cruise to Bermuda last year around the end of May for our honeymoon, it was awesome…
