+1, being able to read it is a godsend at this point. It’s common knowledge that everyone backs up their files weekly (ha), so just copy what you need and get a different hard drive.
Well now I am thinking its the motherboard, I have a brand new SSD and it is telling me the same thing
windows cannot be installed on disk. computers hardware may not support booting to this disk, ensure disk’s controller is enabled in bios
I do not see any option in the bios about boot controller. I have a Gigabyte motherboard
Before I would go dicking with that drive I would pull it out and attach it to a working computer via usb bridge and backup your data. I’m assuming it wasn’t already backed up…if that’s not correct carry on with the tinkering.
There is likely a failure in the hardware IMO. As some have stated…take that as a blessing and rip the data off the drive ASAP if needed then scrap the drive.

As for the BIOS…it’s almost surely a setting that’s incorrect or the SSD needs an updated firmware. Most likely the BIOS setting is jacked up.
Model number on motherboard?
reset the bios to default?
returned BIOS to defaults and I now got to install windows, all is working again thanks guys
bios was my thought, but these guys seemed to have you doing a lot already.
Resetting the bios is a easy fix but you have to rule other stuff out too, glad you got it working tho!
