I thought the NV M50’s were better for track slave usage, less parts, and they have double valve springs and lumpier cams. Supposedly can be revved higher than the Vanos M50’s. (M50TU?)

Non-vanos is simpler but at the cost of power. Perfect for a custom FI build, not so perfect for NA race car.

Lew, shoot for the mintest three series you can find that has a blown HG or blown shocks like you found before. If you are thinking JP for club racing any ‘m3’ parts will long since be replaced by the time you have a race ready setup. M3’s warrant a good amount more money because most people are not headed down the same road as us. That being said have an actual m3 chassis is school and you can have stickers like; ///M power, and not be a poser.

There is an E36 for sale off Crane street on the right hand side when you get onto it from Altamont ave. Not sure if it’s a 5spd, didn’t get a chance to look but it’s definitely in the price range by being under $2k.

i was looking for another awhile back… now i’m just waiting patiently to put mine on the road. holding out until spring when my body work is finished. should be a good time.

im interested in what engine goodies you have laying around. i was given a moneyshifted s50, which only has a good set of cams, oil pan, crank, and the block will be punched out. any extra top end shit laying around or anything? i was gonna chuck the s50 cams in my m50 for the time being but i may wait it out…
