Better than the T-Rex?
$139,000 USD - Not bad, IMO. I’d rather have this than a boat.

I like this a lot. I REALLY like that it folds down and you can pretty much just take it down. This is friggen wild.
I placed the pre order, who else wants in to keep the costs down?
I figure 10 people on a scheduled use calendar we can get it for like $15k each.
thats actually pretty cool… i dig it.
I would actually do that. No lie.
and when its wrecked or something goes wrong… lol.
save your money… you can always get the cheaper model for like 20k…

do it.
Well worth the investment. Seriously that is at least 5 weeks per year that you can use it. Whether you use it for just the weekend, or for the whole week you are getting great value out of it. All you need is a tent and a destination and voila instant fun vacation. I would be up landing in the Adirondacks every chance that I could with it!
no license required either
Yeah bit you look like a hillbilly flying a boat with a plastic wing on it…
I would take the plane made of Carbon Fiber.
I’m pretty sure you need a sport flying license for those things. And depending on the specs of the A5, it might be the same case.
EDIT - it is. It’s on the website. http://www.iconaircraft.com/sport-flying-revolution.html

Yeah you need a license, but it’s not that hard to get
lol yea… 20k vs 140k… obviously its not going to be as nice…
inflatable plane = 60 mph
a5 = 120… which means it requires a license.
this is fucking suicide
edit: the interior is rather plush though
It’s still kind of difficult to get. About half the cost of a normal private craft license but it’s still a good chunk of change. If you get issued a sports license from a regular license issuer than you can apply that to getting the real deal later on too.
Oh SNAP…went in on a pre order deposit which was placed back in Feb.
LOL oh wow…
Very nice.
You’re going to see a lot of well designed sport planes coming to marking in the next year or so. The first batch were more of a rush to market when the sport pilot license regulations finally passed. Now we’re starting to see stuff like this were lots more R&D went into it.
That’s pretty cool. Someday when I have more money I’d definitely sport one of those for going camping on the weekends!
it only holds 60 lbs of luggage though… range is meh… but for around nys i bet it’d be a blast.
that’s on track with a lot of small aircraft.
