CARSTAR is seeking a Marketing and Communications Specialist to join the corporate team. The Marketing and Communications Specialist will work directly with the Marketing Manager to develop and execute national and regional marketing communications plans for the organization. In addition, the successful candidate will build and implement the company’s PR and Communications strategy, be responsible for writing, editing and distributing organizational communications, and work on marketing campaigns.

The individual must be creative and innovative, have great attention to detail and possess excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet short deadlines. This person will be primarily responsible for marketing communications nationally.

Responsibilities:
§ Writing, proofreading and editing of marketing materials for content accuracy and brand consistency
§ Overseeing the development and execution of CARSTAR’s annual National Fundraising Campaign in support of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
§ Development and execution of social media strategy and online presence
§ Working with Marketing Manager on development and execution of all marketing promotions, programs and communications
§ Liaison with Trade Press and responsible for CARSTAR’s Trade Press publication strategy

Qualifications and Competencies:

§ Creative and innovative with great attention to detail
§ Excellent proofreading and copy writing skills (both creative and professional)
§ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
§ Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet short deadlines

Qualifications include post secondary degree and/or diploma in Marketing and/or Communications and a minimum of 2 years of job related experience. Membership in Marketing and/or PR associations is an asset.

Another position: Quality Systems Specialist

  1. SUMMARY
    Coordination and network implementation of all CQS activities and ensure that the system is robust, user friendly and provides value to the franchise partners and is the foundation of the CARSTAR value proposition.

  2. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• To have primary accountability for CQS case management (case assigning, reporting, documentation, etc…)
• Ensure continuous improvement of the CQS program and be the ultimate advocate of CQS to the entire network and all CARSTAR partners
• Manage and maintain the calendar activity relating to CQS maintenance and training for staff and stores
• Track the activities of the Quality Systems team to ensure the effective allocation of resources to meet franchise and insurance partner needs
• To provide quantitative and qualitative analytical support to the Quality Systems team
• Produce store performance KPI analysis for the store performance meeting, as well periodically for the Quality Systems team

  1. SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Coordinate all CQS support activities including usage reports, proper formatting, up-dates as requested by each department/area
    • Support each department/area in the development of store performance improvement processes and tools to be incorporated in CQS
    • Develop an annual training calendar to train all staff and franchise partners on CQS
    • Develop and perform executive reports on CQS Quarterly Assessments performed by the MDM/RD
    • Support the MDM/RD in the Action Plan developments by region for the proper implementation of the CQS
    • Support the CAP process with the CQS structure, functionality, overview and support mechanism for new stores.
    • Analyze the strategic incorporation of new processes and tool development in order to continually improve CQS and incorporate lean principles and best management practices received from the field feedback.

  2. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Experience and knowledge of quality systems / operations
    • Experience and knowledge of strategic planning
    • Strong statistical, financial analysis and data modeling
    • Well organized self starter with ability to balance multiple tasks/responsibilities
    • Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
    • Excellent communications skills
    • Good interpersonal and team player skills
    • Advance software use using excel, access, powerpoint, visio
    • Post secondary education, bachelor process or mechanical engineering.
    • Interest in Automotive

  3. WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Primarily an office based job
• Work in the evening, weekends from time to time as demands dictate
• Ability and willingness to travel, when required
