Holty's Silverado SS rebuild

i thought YOU are mater?!?

mater is the name of the Tow truck

OH :dunno:

What about powdercoating the frame?

no local shops have a oven big enough and it would be too much $$$ anyways

Wow, I’m really suprised that AMF can’t do it. They did an outstanding job on my buddies frame.

really? I’ve never had a prob, i’ve painted it on bare metal a few times.

awesome, I can’t wait to see progress. good luck

You can clean the wax/grease off of it, then have it sandblasted/powdercoated. There is a shop outside Altoona who does frame powdercoating (they are south of Altoona, in the middle of nowhere - a little bit of a drive, but decent guys). They did Volker’s '64 Cadillac frame for $500 (he brought it to them sandblasted & bare, but all suspension components, rear axle, etc were included). They did a nice job & the finish is very durable. I assembled all the frame components, and was very happy with their work. I know how to get there, but I do not know the shop’s name.

I don’t talk to Volker anymore, but I will try to get the name from someone else. I will email this guy now & see if I get the info. Otherwise, you can call Volker & ask him.

amf,rocky mt,king’s etc

The shop I mentioned in an earlier post is “Custom Coatings” and its south of Altoona. Off of I-99 between Altoona and Bedford. You want to talk to Dan Williams, his number is 814-329-4668. Tell him Thad Cunningham sent you.

Thad is a friend of mine.

use industrial paint Imron or something on lines of that. it sticks to any and everything!!! let me know if you are intesrested. i have used it several times and love the results of it. it is about next best thing to powdercoat.

UPDATE:

Today got the engine wiring harness disconnected from the truck and got the bed off. Couldn’t have done it without Quik and wkdivr, thanks guys. I’m beat, here are the pics, i’m going to bed.
