Here are the carnage pics to start off with. I know most of you have already seen them but i would like to make this thread a “start to finish” blog.

Besides the new frame, upper & lower control arms, ball joints, tie rods, and stock fendes/grille/bumper/bumper cover, etc…the upgrades include a Goodmark Cowl hood, hotchkis sway bars, edelbrock shocks, custom grind comp cam, comp 918 springs, comp ti retainers, comp pushrods, crane double timing chain, AMW catch can, custom 4" carbon fiber air intake, SLP 100mm MAF, a brand new BIGGER intercooled supercharger, and a nitrous outlet wet nitrous kit. although i have decided NOT to paint the frame, the axle, all the suspension parts, and the underbody all will be painted.

yes paint the frame! atleast coat it in black or POR15 to give it a cleaner look and protect from rust

por15 won’t stick to bare metal, its made to be painted over rust.
heres my issue with painting the frame. all that wax/undercoating on the frame needs to be stripped off before primer and paint can stick to it. thats no problem, as pewter stated before, kerosene will do the trick. the problem is getting the paint in all the little seems and up in the C-channel of the frame. plus inside the tubing supports. those will be left bare since the kerosene will get into all those places but the paint gun won’t be able to get paint into those places. this was brought to my attention by the body shop guy. trust me, i don’t mind putting in the work and i would be buying the paint and primer and all materials and painting it myself so he wouldn’t be trying to talk me out of it for his benefit at all but he makes a valid point. the keresene or brake cleaner, which ever product i use to strip the wax/grease will strip it in places that i won’t be able to get at to paint. therefore leaving me bare in some spots where it will rust.
