I would never buy a house that is that has 100% tax assesment that is crazy. You can tell he doesent own a home. My house in West Seneca was recently reassesed taxes went up $1,500. I was pissed but my house has not been re-assesed for some time.
a home’s assessed value doesn’t always equate to its market value. improvements, demand, lack of a good assessor (see fry)
the fact that I paid $5k over my house’s assessed value (at the time of purchased) has little bearing on if the deal was good or not. (it was a good deal)
I don’t know what you’re talking about. My assessor’s great!
:evolve:
now that is a difference worth fighting :gotme:
Yeah, I paid $2000 for an appraisal.
It is a gamble but I think it will pay off.
Im not 100% sure but I don’t think that all towns assess houses to full market value anyway, some are like half etc.
yeah all towns are different
from what I’ve been reading town should always assess at what the house would sell for today without any special circumstances or pressure to buy or sell.
how a town chooses to base your taxes from this assessment is what should vary.
