They are aluminum tubes powdercoated black. Lowes and Home Depot sell them for about the same price ~$20 for a box of 10, but different brands. Lowes carries Dekorators ballusters and Home Depot has Stiles, which is a brand I have never heard of. You can either drill holes for the ballusters to fit into or they have bags of the plastic “mounts” that you just screw into place and the tube slides over it. I drilled the holes because i wanted the railings be 36" from the decking.

Total Cost was around $1300-1350, but i saved around $170 with coupons. So the actual total was closer to $1200.
I used a TON of coupons. I made copies of all the coupons I had for Lowes that were just print outs. Then used them at both Lowes and Home Depot. I went back and forth to both places a lot. Lowes and HD have pretty similar pricing so it didn’t matter where i went. The color of each places PT lumber was different though.
I actually went to both places before buying anything and got all the prices for everything I needed. Then based on the different size decks I had drawn up I made a rough estimate of the cost.
