My Backyard Makeover

Started this project back in Sept. of last year. I really had no idea what I wanted to do or how I was going to do it but I set off on what is turning into a never ending battle against mother nature and lack of free time/motivation.

The photos are in chronological order and bring us up to this afternoon.

The only thing I hired anyone to do was the patio.

Left on the list for this year.

Re-do the drainage

Install new Fence along the “front” of the backyard

Hire Arrow to build a bar area on my deck

Get the grass to come in

Landscape around the patio

It may be hard to tell in the pics but the backyard is between 3 and 4 feet higher than it was when I bought the house just about a year ago.

doin work over there. Nice setup

Thank you…just like working on cars…the outcome can sometimes be rewarding while being a huge PITA along the way.

Back story on the mishap?

Cutting down a tree…twisted off the stump half way through the cut…landed on the house

Looks great!

Ouch I guess it could have been worse

The deck work will be the cherry on your construction sundae.

Yeah…all things considered, noone died, didnt damage the structure, didnt damage the roof, didnt blow out any windows.

I agree!

Nice yard ! I want the pool!

Looks great

Looks great, love the built in fire pit

You have the strangest shed I’ve ever seen. It’s like a very small house.

Or is it a playhouse for a child?

It’s where he keeps his pool boys.

It was a kids playhouse I guess but it never seemed to have anything in it so I just use it as a shed. I think I might try and sell it when I built my garage next year which is planned to house the 2 cars and yard stuff so that I can park my daily inside again.

 looks good.

I hate large projects.

Nice work!

Very nice. Who did the grading of the old/new dirt?
Info plz

Me myself and I. Rented various machines to assist. A track bobcat with a bucket and then a rake attachment was the best machine I used during the entire process.

Very nice…are you near Willam and Schwartz?
