Honda Guys..

Girls car 98 civic coupe(DX, auto). Im looking to put power windows in the car, anybody sell a complete kit? Or am i going to have to source all the parts peice by peice? I found the regulators/motors as one for 75shipped each. So theres 150, then the 2 switches (each door), is it possible to get the full wiring setup? Trying to make it plug n play as much as possible.

Also, rear spoiler. Know of any places to get them? Looking to have her mirrors, mouldings and the spoiler (when i get it) painted red to match. Whats something like that go for?

Ive been trying to convince her into wheels, coils, front lip, smoked headlights and pick up some fogs but shes not having it…ha. She basically wanted an EX but couldnt find one in her $ range, so i want to make the car into an EX or close to it…

go to a junkyard that has an ex… they will have everything you are looking for

and probably cheaper altogether, and if it’s a ‘friendly auto recycler’ maybe you’ll get to look around a bit… ::slight_smile:

you guys recomend anyone? I know shit about hondas/where to go. Only yard I know of is Williams and they turned into assholes…Cant even pull your own stuff, and if you do the guy has to watch over you and then he helps and ends up tearing into shit, wrecking the doorpanel you badly needed *(@tg522256v v3

Is she missing any fingers? If not, tell her to roll the damn things down by hand. ;p

and this is why cliff is loved by all the girls!!! :crackup

haha yah shes got all her fingers…its something shes wanted for awhile, so i figure ill help start the process

best bet is buy the doors as a whole if the color matches or just take all the guts including the door panels and everything and swap it over.

I have the roll me up windows… in the summer time you have em both down and before you go anywhere you have to roll them both up. Mad annoying.

power windows FTW :thumb

thanks guys. Another thing, the mouldings. Those clips are expensive! Is there ANYWAY to get them out w.o breaking? Im guessing ive got to tear into the interior to get to them from behind the door/rear qtr area??

Yeah to get the door moldings, remove the door panel and pop the clips from the inside. There’s a 10mm bolt holding them in too I believe. I hear that the rear quarter moldings are a lot more difficult to get at from the inside, so if you can afford it, just break them off and replace the clips… or if you have time… take off the interior plastic and get at them too.

to hell with interior clips, gorilla glue ftw.

i may not notice, but it would bother me big time knowing glue is holding on mouldings that are suppose to have clips…FAIL on that idea lol

Yah i spray painted them w. “honda red trim paint” and its chipping after winter. IDK if it was the paint or my prepwork cause my trim on my car is textured/spray painted on and its been over a year w. no issues. I spent 60.00 on stupid clips for that honda… so if i could NOT break them again id be golden. Or if just a few have to be replaced then thats ok. Going to take them off this weekend and find a body shop who can spray them, i want to do her mirrors too but it’d have to be a QUICK bodyshop cause she needs her car mon-thurs and cant take mine due to lack of 5spd skills

sunshine auto, i know the owner very well. i gotta go this weekend sometime or b4 friday, if you wanna go, theres atleast 5-10 civics in there, dont know what kind they are, but there all mostly 92-99

power windows = weight

my rotors are 20.5 lbs each. im not worried about power windows LOL, i added 20+ pounds of dynamat per door and thats only the front and im just starting. :lol

you can get the paint you need in spray cans. go to schenectady auto body for them. as long as you prep the pieces properly, it should work like a charm. painting smaller parts via rattle can is easy, again, with the proper prep work.

i would try bills in amsterdam for a u-pull.

if you want them to pull them, kneers, rt. 7 auto, and jerry browns have a big selection.

have a blast a.j.
