Honda Passport Pro/Con's.

My sister found a 1994 Honda Passport for sale for $650 locally. It has 140,000 miles on it, hasn’t been on the road due to a misfire from what the guy told me. Anything to specifically look for on these for problems? I’m going to go look at it tomorrow and see if there are any other problems. Suggestions are welcome.

Thanks,
Sean

It’s actually an Isuzu Rodeo re-badged. My mom used to have one. They are decent trucks, not sure, but my guess is that a used engine would be pretty cheap and not that hard to find. I would beware of rust though.

goodluck on replacing wheelberrings. take it to a dealer for that. it’s really not too hard if you have the Honda tools, but it’s still kind of a pain in the dick. just from experience

drivetrain = SHIT

a buddy had one who pampered it for 5 years going through 2 replacement trannys and some other main components. I would stay away unless it super clean or something of the sort.

well first its not really a honda like others have stated its and isuzu and good luck getting parts for that thing

According to consumer reports, the passport is in the top ten cars to be avoided, in terms of reliability and maintenance. Since it is not really a Honda, I guess that makes sense.

I would avoid it and look for an older pathfinder or something…they seems to take a ton of abuse.

I have a 95 Passport, V6 ,2wd, it runs like a champ. I never had problems finding parts. The only reason it hasn’t moved recently, is because it needs a new seal in the rear end because it leaks a little and I dont want to drive it and take a chance of messing anything up. If you do buy it and need parts for it, let me know. I personally think they are nice vehicles.
