Honda po1298 ELD code

1998 Honda Civic DX D16y7

Cars been thrown a code po1298 for electronic load dectection to high. It also thorws codes for both O2 sensors since there on the same circuit, so a total of 3 codes. It keeps blowen the Alternator ELD fuse in the underdash fuse block. I have disconnected the O2 sensors and VSS(also on the circuit) one at a time to see if it still throws the ELD code, which it does for both. The code doesnt appear till the fuse blows. Alternator puts out 14.45V when the fuse is still good. Any help is much appreciated as this is my daily driver!

changed a lottttttt of alternators for this problem man , its suttin in the alt that does it shorting out

Yea I may dissconnect the alt tomorrow to see if it still blows. It does with the Vss and O2’s dissconnected still. I have a alt lined up just incase. But I have been reading that the fuse boxes go bad sometimes and throw the same code.

the module for the e.l.d is in the alt as well and that is what fries

I’ll swap it out today and see what happens.

Swappped the pain in the ass alternator and interior fuse box, no change.
