Honestly… if you want to do it on the cheap… and have a good time, Check out Kingston, Georgia.
Right on the ocean… TONS of beaches, really nice people, good food and not a real busy place. It’s just north (maybe 1 min.) of the Florida boarder. and maybe 10 mins. from Jacksonville.
It’s like the place got stuck in a time warp. Spent a week down there a few years back and had an awesome time.

Other than that, North Carolina is a really good time in or around the outer banks (kitty hawk). The beaches are outstanding and a lot of shit to do if you and the wife are in the mood (anywhere along the island/peninsula). I was down there for 2 weeks over the summer and had one hell of a time. I didn’t want to leave… bunch of us rented a beach house.
We went to Sandals resort in the bahamas. We booked very early and got it for $3200 including airfare for 8 days. Sandals was amazing too. Good food, great drinks, lots of things to do.

the place is huge. on site club, between the rooms and the pool/beach is paths through a wooded area so you can see birds and stuff.
Also, if you go, you MUST do Cozumel and scuba/snorkle. its totally worth it and easy to do since the hotel has activities and sports to do and has the trip also setup.

Yes… you take your chances on the weather, that is the transitional time from hot season to rainy season. Not that its that bad, but it may rain every day for an hour or so before it gets sunny. It gets “worse” as you head towards christmas, and then heads back to normal around Easter.

Tips usually aren’t expected. So you wander around without your wallet, grab a drink where you want when you want. No thoughts. No worries. Eat what you want without a thought to what you’re spending. Very relaxing.
I’ve been to Sandals Ocho Rios in Jamaica. It was nice. I’d recommend it. It’s in your budget.
I spent my honeymoon at Qamea in Fiji. It was amazing, but way out of your budget.
In May I’m going to Excellence Playa Mujeres north of Cancun. It looks way better than Jamaica, and it’s in your budget.
I originally wanted to stay in the US, but seeing we’re going beginning of october, not sure the weather will be decent enough. ill have to look into climate that time of year…and thanks for the links!!
My fiance was looking heavily into Ocho Rios…i’ve just heard of some bad experiences in Jamaica which make we wonder.
I was looking at Playa Mujeres yesterday, and it looks really nice also…and in the budget.

The cities are crimey, but the resorts should be nice. Well, I haven’t paid attention since I was there like 2 or 3 years ago. I’m really thinking Playa Mujeres will be way nicer though. I’ll be back May 16th. I’ll post up pics and a review, but that might be too late.

Sandals caught our eye, whitehouse in jamaica namely. It being inclusive is really attractive, and the list of included attractions/activities really “turns me on” as I love to play, haha.
Any good info or further recommendations?
Jamaica is great but don’t leave the resort. Sandals in the Bahamas was great because we could venture out and see some stuff. There’s a resort nearby called Atlantis. It has a casino, huge pool etc which is nice to go to for a day. Can’t go wrong with any Sandals though.
