yeah I think i remember hearing about that. Brock fucked his legs up really bad too. Overshot the first double in a ryhthm section. I was out getting more premix when it happened, but from what I heard they cut his boot off him and his bone was went halfway through his sock. Actually at the same track that my buddy built that I broke my arms on. :embarassd:
I thought you have one…I have one too…lets see who’s is faster!!!
yours is. i sold mine to my best friend. he ripped it apart to build it all up and never put it back together… or at least that the last ive heard.
yeah he was a mess, dont know if hes gettin back into it or not but far as I know he is still with suzuki.
He live less than a mile from me, its was always fun runnning around his lil track he built in the back yard
im the one that found the bike for kurt. i have a 2000 cr 250 now, few things done to it like a pipe, reeds, filter and the bike is wicked. iv been ridin since i was 8 and doin a little racin, so im no newbie.
all i can say is i rode this 125 and raced against him and it was quicker.
and the motor is built, not just a few teeth less in the rear sprocket. im 200 pounds, and in 4th gear the bike pulled right up with little effort.
ive ridden for plenty long enough, and have been around enough fast 125’s to know that its IMPOSSIBLE to make a 125 as powerful as a 250. And even if they can hit a peak number that is ANYWHERE near what a 250 makes, the 250 will smoke the shit out of it in low end torque. I dont care what your ass dyno is telling you, unless your 250 is the slowest shitbucket 250 ever.
im not gonna argue over this, because its stupid.
iv ridin the bike and i know whats its capable of.
and if you were such a bike expert you would be racing for a living and not sitting up late at night causing drama on the internet. i suggest you find a new hobby, because bench racing isnt panning out for you
if ur not going to argue…then why make this post??? and say the things you said?? ur obviously looking to argue???
i saw him at qualifying at last years high point in the 125 pro class. he got hurt then.
you guys all suck! let’s race right now.
…so do u get paid to ride for a living? what makes u such an expert? i think i am just as knowldgeable as anyone on this board about mx, so i dont think u r gonna tell me anything i dont already know. since u seem to know so much, please give a few examples of what exactly was done to this engine to warrant the 6k that is claimed to be dumped into it. i stand by what i said before, i cant see 6k being put into the MOTOR alone and i cant see any true 125 pulling harder than a modern 250. i would ask if it had a big bore 167 kit or something, but it was stated that the owner races it ‘professionally’ so it cant be and must be a true 125.
ok, ill be content w/ a 2nd place
is that supposed to be sarcastic?
6K plus the price of the bike…
shit, for that much i’d go buy a KTM 525 and have some extra $$ in my pocket.
sorry, i’m stuck on 4-strokes… i like 2-strokes, but i’m sold on the advantages of the new-age 4-stroke race bikes… especially since if i were to buy a bike again, i’d prolly trail ride and hill climb much more than I raced it.
you dont really have to be a bike expert to know that a 125 will never be able to touch a 250.
no, it wasnt supposed to be sarcastic. I was agreeing with you.
ive ridden some of the new 4 strokes. They power from them is impressive, but I still like feel of a 2 stroke.
didn’t we have this argument about motor size in cars a few hundred times?
small engines may make hp but what really matters is torque, and small motors just can’t keep up with bigger engines.
yea… they’re all fast as hell… its almost scary that they make machines that will go 100+ mph through the woods
i perosonally dont think i’d ever wanna race on a full-time basis… trail riding is soo much fun… you never know what is going to be around the next turn! hill climbing is a blast too!
the thing i love about dirtbikes tho is… you can crash the fucker pretty hard, get up, and nothing will be wrong with the bike… its great
yeah I never really got into racing all that much. I love riding at tracks and jumping the big jumps. But i could care less about racing.
until 2-strokes r totally dead, they’ll be my choice of mx bike. i know that the 4-strokes have the torque advantage (especially in the 125 class), but 2 strokes fit my style of riding and they r alot more fun for me.
the more i think about that 125 smoking this Jim guy’s 00 CR250, the more ridiculous it sounds. the only thing that makes sense is that that 125 runs super crisp and feels realy snappy, and that CR250 is either clapped out and beat or isnt jetted as crisp, so in turn it FEELS slower than the 125.
maybe the 250 hasnt had a filter/top end change since it was bought.
