high voltage is out your way!
jim keeps tellin me about this place called widowmaker around here…something my 84 husky wasn’t capible of doing haha
High Voltage is a track just north of Apollo. the have practice their, not sure what days though
have to check that out
Yea, High Voltage is like 2 miles away from the Sheetz in Ford City.
In my opinion, fuck the whole two-stroke deal and get a 4-stroke… either a 450 or a 250… If you dont race it, you’ll only need to dick with the engine once every two years or so…
If you don’t think ur totally ready for the 250 class or its been a while since you’ve rode, go with a 125 class bike for sure… my g/f’s step-dad used to race 250s and then took about 7 years off… so he decided to buy a new YZ250 in '01, and has rode it about 10 times… he’s hurt himself perty bad a couple times too… just too strong for him…
Me personally, i’d never buy a 125… if nothing else i’d go for a 250 4-stroke… stock for stock, they can keep up with a 250 2-stroke around the track (for the most part)… and if i were to buy a new bike, i’d definitely buy a YZ-450F…
oh and by the way… the japanese bikes are all the same - none are better than the others… all depends on preference and rider ability… Kawi has been putting some real effort into their bikes the past 2 years and they’ve really moved up from the stone-ages they were in for a long time.
I like Yamaha’s the best… but w/ unlimited money, i’d be forced to buy KTM, just as GreenZ said…
^ just some opinons of mine… i’ve been back and forth a lot on dirtbikes… heck, i used to ride a measly TW200 and a well modified RM250 in the same day… talk about night and day… and i’m surrounded by ppl that are OBSESSED w/ dirtbikes… and i’ve seen the things that happen when you get a bike outta ur ability…
overall, if YOU like it, it’s great… it all depends on ur ability… not manufacturer
Oh, and Challenger Raceway is about 7 miles outside of Indiana in Jacksonville…
there’s no practicing there tho… only racing…
but if you wanna get in and watch the race for free, lemme know… i know all the trails out around to the back side of the track, so you can ride right up to the side of the track and sit there… i’ve never had anyone flip out on me for doing it.
i’m not buyin a new bike…i mean i can afford it but i can’t justify spending that much on something that’ll more than likely land on me a couple times in the ffirst year. this bike is one hell of an offer and it’s got a lot of power and was done right. i’m not looking for advice on what bike to get i’m just posting that i’m getting it friday
I love it when you try and act like you have a clue about something you’re clueless about. I guess some kid that works at Oberg makes his own parts and came up with a bike that is faster than the PROFESSIONAL WORKS BIKE that I rode. The bike built by Suzuki engineers with millions of dollars at their disposal and years and years of experience building racing two-stroke engines. The bike I rode was a setup that Travis Pastrana eventually ran. The motor was built for him and Suzuki gave it to Brock for a week to test out when they were trying to court him into a long term contract so he had it about 2 weeks before Pastrana got it. THAT bike couldnt hang with my barely modified 250. But i guess since the guy that built it claims that he sunk 6 grand into it, and your friend can pop a wheelie in 4th gear on it (which a stock 125 is capable of doing with a $40 sprocket), that makes it eat 250’s alive. :kekegay:
you’re the one bragging about riding million dollar bikes and all this crap and how you’re sucking off suzuki engineers and shit. who gives a fuck he’s not a kid either jackass go back to tending your kiddy pool
yeah Indiana county is right in the middle of District 5. Those boys take their shit seriously. I very much disagree on the all jap bikes being the same. I cant comment on this years set of bikes specifically, but my 97CR always felt like a rocket compared to any other 250. The YZ was smooth, but no real hit. The Suzuki had a bit more grunt, but nothing compared to my Honda. The suspension on the CR was a little rough and it did get some bad headshake from time to time, but it was fast as shit.
how quaint, coming from the kid telling everyone about his $6,000 motor powered 250cc smoking 125. We all rode each others bikes that day, and everyone thought the full on works bike would be way faster than it was.
Sucking off Suzuki engineers. Yeah, by thinking that they might be more competent at building race motors than some hick that works at Oberg. You hilarious.
Damn this is getting a little heated…haha…I got a solution when set up a street race(but only in an open field) :hsdance:
no way. I dont want to lose to the super secret Oberg engineered 125cc MX bike OF DEATH!
hey darkstar do you know Gene Stull?
Just through Brock. i met him a couple times at the races. They both raced for Cernics Suzuki. Gene was always one class ahead of Brock.
yeah hes a good buddy of mine, sadly enough my mom was married to his dad if you ever had the displeasure of meetin him
how about a 97 CR250
meh, I never said more to him than the obligatory “how ya doin, looked good out there today” bullshit. Did he end up turning pro?
aluminumn frame = win
nope… he took a break from racing after he fucked his leg up
