Hot Water Tank Hook Up

yea, tankless is still a bit in the early stages… We considered one, with the rebates & incentives it’d be about the same as a tank. But the exhaust piping is ridic, its like $100/ft or somthing.

Thanks Nick, but I’ll be in this house for maybe 3 more years. I’m lookin for the cheapest.

Cheapies:

30g $299.99 - 6yr / 6yr - 1st hr 66 / rec 36 - e0.61
40g $299.99 - 6yr / 6yr - 1st hr 70 / rec 36 - e0.59

Sho 'nuff. Just called them. Contractors only.

just chiming in on the tankless water heaters…

My grandma just put one in at her house (2 full baths/dishwasher) and have never had a problem with it. And as for it not getting hot- it’s constantly set to 130*F and it will burn the sh|t out of you, and the same holds true when you do laundry, dishes, at the same time.

But, she did spend 2700$ for the unit installed.A little bit of a difference but as already said between the tax credits, and her gas bill being cut in half, even in the winter, it’s almost already paid for itself after about 8 months.

The initial investment is huge though.

And will you be installing it yourself (i’m looking for someone to install a gas fireplace)

yes tankless is good if you spend the money.if you go with the $800 ones they dont work but if you get the $2000 ones they work… i should be putting one in in the next 5 years or so but right now i have nothing and need something… once the $$ is there i will be doing it

yes i will put it in my self… i have also put in a ventless gas fireplace and its reall easy… running the lines were a lot easer then i thought it would be…I will not do that type of work to anyones house do to the fact i dont have INS. for it… and i dont want that on my back… same goes for working on cars i know you did not ask but same deal

Ooh. Vent style?

BTW - the 12yr units are “self cleaning” fwiw.
