How did your parents react?

I told my mom when I bought my 600rr and she was like oh wow what color? lol

I told my dad and he asked if it was a crotch rocket and after I said yes he said I would have to let him ride it around the block lol

I had dirtbikes for most of my childhood so getting a sportbike was going to happen sooner or later and my parents trust me enough that they knew I wasn’t going to make any stupid decisions

my parents have the thought of me crashing anytime the words of 2 wheels and a motor are uttered. It would take them a very long time to get over the fact of me having a bike and riding it all the time. my mom would probably never get over it and constantly talk me out of having one.

On the list of worst things I could do to piss them off, I think this would be near the top, in between bringing home a dude and saying i was gay, and the dude being black.

My dad got run down by a drunk driver on his in the 80’s and it’s been understood since before i turned 16 that they’d cut me off if i got one

I was already out of the house when I got mine. My mom just looked sad and worried. My dad wound up getting his first bike the year after.

My parents were happy. :scratcheshead:

That’s because they were baffled at the newfangled contraption known as a brand new 1947 motorized bicycle.

(sry, had to)

My mom threw a party

this thread is hilarious if you replace “sport bike” with “t3h ghey” and read it.

Hahah thats pretty good.

lol

they live in NC so there wasn’t much they could do about it. my mom did call me about once a day and ask me if i had sold it yet.

mine too. lol.

My dad used to ride so it was the typical “ride safe, we worry about you” deal.

My mom did cut out newspaper article of crashes and deaths and put them on the counter for me though, when I first started out… lol

Mine too. (again)
