Just curious what most people do…more interested in who uses charge and actually gets their annual fee worth in benefits, if so what benefits…
I used to charge everything and pay it monthly and would get a few hundo a year from rewards cash back in doing so.
Being lazy I just pay for everything by debit/cash now.
Credit card 99% of the time, pay balance off twice a month. My card is through HSBC, no annual fee and the rewards are good for flights. Definitely worth it, for me…as long as balances are paid to $0 I don’t know why cash/debit would even be considered.
For those not familiar, credit cards can carry a balance…charge cards must be paid that month you don’t have a choice, like a traditional AmEx…
cash money
I steal 80% of my shit, the rest…I use Discover.
Hmm…i have an amex card with a small balance…i dont pay it off monthly…i guess im a bit confused
No charge VISA with cashback gives me no reason to use anything else but credit. Just pay it off every two weeks and you’re golden!
Then you probably have a blue card…those allow you to carry a balance but have a credit limit …traditional Amex ( green, gold, platinum, black) Have no limit, but you have to pay in full each month.
anyone have an AMEX platinum or black? What are the perks? A co worker of mine got approved for a black (he went a year putting 100% of his purchases on his AMEX card) and said it seemed the benefits didn’t outweigh the annual fee
from what I hear, the past few years, AMEX has dropped the ball with the higher end cards… practically giving them out…and lacking on the benefits
I rock it old skool. Cash is king!
Usually cash, I hate credit card receipts and don’t throw them out like I do cash receipts.
All cash or discounted gift cards that are paid for with cash
Credit and pay it off each month. I’ve got a Wells Fargo card that kicks 1% back to my mortgage principal. Between gas, daycare, groceries, utilities auto-pay and all the other shit it ends up being a pretty nice payment toward the mortgage each year. If we traveled more I’d switch to a miles card but we’re not big travelers.
I usually try to use cash at local businesses and restaurants, everything else I put on the card.
Debit/Cash.
Gas/Groceries are typically Credit/Debit but I typically have cash on hand for everything else.
Anyone else write checks/snail mail for bills? I do.
Cash usually for Bars and Debit for everything else. I almost never carry cash.
Discover almost everything then pay it off once or twice a month.
