As an old school guy I think GM messed up. The ZL1 is supposed to be the all aluminum 427 stripper, not the Z28. Other than that I love it!
That’s actually the “correct” order if you go back to the original Z28 and SS cars. 4th gens were the backwards ones.
And yes, the ZL1 should have been the stripper model with the all aluminum motor based on the history behind the name…
i thought first gens were z28 and z28 ss models…i could be completely wrong i don’t really pay attention i just know i would love to build a 69 pro touring one day
You could get an RS/SS or even a Z28/RS but not a Z28/SS. The Z28 package in 67 to 69 was only offered with a 302ci engine that was based upon the 305ci limit for Trans Am racing for the era, where the SS package offered a 350ci or 396ci engine in different levels. RS was an appearance package. In 1970 they upped the engine size on the Z28 to a 350ci which was named the LT1. The SS was still offered with a choice of 350ci and 396ci(402) engine packages. RS was again an appearance package option.

And my buddy has a 69 z28 all original with some crazy expensive steering wheel that nobody wanted back in 69 but its worth bank now I guess… I really like this new z28, my x has a 2010 ss and a 69 rs ss I drove her 2010 and that thing was bad ass I can’t imagine how this car will drive

I was waiting for this to come out and kind of disappointed. Like DigRacer, im old school with the muscle cars. This Z should of had a insane 302ci motor. Just like the 5.0 going back to its roots. My dad has a 69 Z-28. Id like one in a metal flake blue with pearl white strips please. Oh and some new wheels that go back to the Trans Am “wagon wheels”.

If the old Z06 power plant is in the Camaro now, something with a higher HP level has to be in the C7 Z06 and ZR1. Maybe we’ll see an 800HP ZR1 from the factory.
Yea from the rumors floating around Z06 will be around 600+ and zr1 is supposed to be 700+

They should throw a lsx with twin turbos on the zr1. And put the ls9 in the z06. They won’t
