Yeah but if they move the original file to the USB drive, than it really isn’t a backup…it’s just in a different location.

OK, so using the cloud is probably the best backup (assuming the cloud owner is RELIABLE). However, for people with large quantities of data (tons of music, large movie files, large photo files, etc…) what is the best solution? 2 external drives? A low I/O Raid array sitting mostly idle out on some home server?

I hopefully want to get a home server up and running for my Music running in RAID. I have 90,000+ tracks at about 650-700GB …Other than have a few “Offsite Backups” Right now I’d be fucked if that drive goes down.
I paid 3k for my setup…10 years ago. All I got was a Standard Dell. If I spent that now, fuck me.
