How long will my Altima last?

Hello,
I have a '98 Altima GXE and it’s got 184,000 km on it. No mods- just plain jane Altima. I heard some screeching metal sounds and the mechanic says I need new struts, springs and tie bars. It’s a $960 fix [parts & labour] - and I was wondering if it’s worth the cost of repair? Is the price quotes about right- or too much? I figure the value of the car is about $2,000…

How long have people driven their Altima’s? I’m hoping to break 250k - but do lots of other problems crop up? I really like the car- it’s been good to me, since I’ve bought it in 2001. Can I make it last forever?

My last Altima which was a 2.5 2002 went to 282,000kms. Just maintain it regularly and you should be good to go.

That’s what I want to hear! I found a used strut so the bill for the work is now just over $500. Phew!

depends on the drive on how they maintain the car! I have a car that usually gets it’s services at the dealership I guess they really fine tune the car and makes great maintenance by giving me the right parts that needed to be replaced.
