Please elaborate as to why cars older than 5 years old should be junked.
born 12/25/1986
first truck had me beat by 2 years (1988 Chevy 1500 pickup)
moved down to a 1984 Porsche 944
finally moved up in the world to a 1998 Dodge Dakota R/T (still have)
downgraded back to a 1989 GMC 1500 Sierra for a winter beater durring winter '05/'06
this winter i hit a new high of 2002 in the form of a Chevy Blazer
so to answer the original question, i had a 1984 Porsche 944, which is/was (however you look at it) 2 (almost 3) years older than me.
i kinda agree, i think there are some cars that were good for what they were, but nothing beyond basic transportaion for a few years, and after they’re a few years old, its time to move on. on the other hand, if i had to choose ONE vehicle that i would have to drive for the rest of my life, it would be, HANDS DOWN, a 1988-1994 Chvy/GMC 1500 pickup, 4x4 regular cab, short box, with a TBI 350. fucking tanks and they’ll run forever. both mine had over 200k on them, and i just LOVED everything about them.
i have owned a 1981 prelude and currently own an 85 300zx i was born in 87 so both are older then me i personally like older cars better for some reason except for the fact they sometimes dont run as well as newer ones
 Yep, I better tow it to a scrap yard before the town starts fining me! This 5 year old heap is obviously at the end of its usable life.
Oh damn, time to scrap the WRX. It’s going to be 5 soon, who’s going to haul all the booze to carlisle next year.
Damn, my Pimpsat is now 5 years old, guess it’s time to keep up with the Karus’s
X…

My first car was an 1986 Buick Regal Limited (Super Pimp interior) fun first car V8 307 RWD Built in late 1985, I was born march of 86. So it was older than me :).
Oldest car… Me thinks it was the 81 gutless - couple months younger then myself.
