How NOT to clean a chain (Graphic)

That picture was a joke and you know it!

Rough day…

I think its one of those instances where you’re caught off guard and it just happens. A similar thing happend to me a couple years back on my bike (not motorcycle) where I thought the chain had come off so i grabbed it and for some stupid reason i started pedaling. Caught my finger tip between the chain and sprocket. Didn’t do anything close to that guy but i lost part of my fingernail. Fucker hurt like a bitch too.

Anyway, looks like he got caught offguard of the rag catching in the sprocket. On the plus side, he can come up with some interesting stories on how it happened.

damnit… the pictures arent loading.

and lol at chris.jpg

ahahahah

Thats how i clean my chain… :meh:

scary thought of something goign wrong though…

I did that just 2 days ago… wd-40, rag, start bike, first gear… spray on… wipe down…

then ride for a bit, dry, and apply chain wax.

i cant believe that sounded like a good idea, i mean i remember pedaling bmx bikes to do that, but atleast you can stop those easy…lol…

 I remember seeing that pic

damn that is shitty

Why do you have to wipe the chain?

Everyone seems to do it differently, but many people wd-40 the chain and wipe off the excess, along with the dirt, to clean it before applying the wax…

I wipe my chain every time I clean it. Err… I USED to wipe my chain.

I wipe the chain in order to clean it and keep it looking shiny.

This is why I use a nylon wire brush. Fuck losing fingers.

A+ scott. <3.

i saw the pics now… ugh. nasty

is the bike ok?

That is something I would expect from a Honda rider…

lol, and the dude still types better than 90% of the people on this forum.

passmcgrass… i agree… lol

pshhh says the guy who loves suzuki.

I never said I love Suzuki… I mean, I am happy with the bike I have. Originally I wanted a 636, instead I got a gsxr 1000… Spur of the moment thing. :fyi:

he probably uploaded the pictures and made the post before he went to the hospital too.
