it’s stupid because it implies the business arrangement is an equal investment with an equal payoff. if this was really the case then probably all of the barn yard animals want in.
bottom line:
there are a lot of people who bust their ass, take intelligent risks, and actually EARN every penny they make…yet those at the bottom of the totem pole feel they deserve a cut. Our government wants to support this mentality.

Also, it is infinitely easier to turn $1M into $10M than it is to turn nothing into $1M. Most people would be very happy busting their sack to make $100k a year. If you have a million in decent conservative investments, you make $100k a year to sit on your ass.
This reminds me specifically of what happened to me personally several years ago. I had earned about $22K in O.T. one year at my job. Because of that additional $22K, it placed me into a higher tax bracket.
I don’t recall the exact numbers off-hand, but as a result I basically busted my ass and could have had the same amount of money in pocket if I would have worked 200hrs less of O.T. That’s 200hrs of free, personal time i wish i had back.
Did i bust my ass the next year for overtime? Hell no.

Minus expenses such as buying them, storing them, shipping them. Obviously this would greatly cut into your profit margin. This is what you need to do to live your up to your posted email example.

So what if they are handed the business. The fact remains that their family worked hard to grow that business and it they are entitled to hand it down to who ever they want. Or are you against inheritance too?
I was making the point that the self made rich are rarely the ones who bitch about taxes. They’ve seen the other side and can relate, and appreciate how much better off they are, even if it means being in a higher tax bracket. The ones who bitch about them usually come from family money and never had to do the grunt work.
