I was just going to use my old camcorder and use that pinnicle dvd thing i got but the camcorder eats tapes.
So for my older VHS-C tapes i could use this

Then just pop that in the VCR and go from there to get it on the computer.
Now do they make on of those for hi8 Tapes? because i really dont have another way of getting them on my computer

There’s the PCI slot flavor, the USB flavor, pick your poison.

Capture card is the only way.
If you don’t want to buy one bring it by my place and I’ll capture and encode it.

My brother has an old hi8 camera we could use, plus the hook-ups required to capture it.

PM somedude, ask him if you can use the “brick”, as he replaced it with a newer camera it just lies dormant in the garage these days.
As far as the capture card/the computer it’s attached to it’s not really something I can loan out as I use it for other things.
