i just bought new side mirrors with light markers, ok i installed mirrors no problem but how do i get the side markers working???
the mirror has 5 wires and these mirrors are powered, the car mirror OEM have connector plug, but these mirrors dont, and colors don’t match, what should i do.
mirrors came with no documentation.
1992 accord lx 4/dr
hahahaha good luck with that one…95accordvtec bought some nice m3 style mirrors with the led signals in them, power as well. we got the lights working but no matter what we did we could not get the power mirror to work so he has to do it by hand. if you figure out how to do it please post a how-to
Black is ground.
Cut your turn signal wire and touch it to each wire from the mirror until the signal works, then solder and tape them up.
Next put a hot wire on each of the other wires to see which direction they move the mirror, and label it.
Then you’re going to have to cut your mirror plug off and connect the corresponding directions to the ones you just found.
the set we got had the directions for what wire for the signals did what, so we jumped on babelfish to get crude translation and just did those wire clip things that you samwich over the wire and it crimps through the loom on the corresponding power wires for the front signal socket and front marker socket. if you need a write up PM me
actually Nick, I did get the mirrors to power up correctly and work. now I can control where they point by using the controls inside the car. no need to roll down the windows anymore and adjust the mirror by hand. what i did was, i cut the oem connector off the car (left enough wire to re-attach it later if need be) and stripped the wires. then i cut the mirror’s wires and stripped them. then i just guess and checked. i connected all the wires and just hit the controls and watched where the mirror went. i know that’s not the best way to do it, but it worked …
why isnt that the best way to do it? of course it is. anyway, i dindt know you got them working. good deal…now go outside and post up what color wire goes from the LED’s to the front signals to help out Amd3dnow3
ok, focus told me to go peek at mine for ya so i did…ok, there were originally a white, black, red set…these were for the power pirror motor to work, so that rules out those wires which you have already connected. there should only be two or three wires left…mine had three. please post what color your remaining wires are so we can straighten this out for you.
EDIT: reading back it seems you hae a black and a white one left. if that is the case the black should be ground, and the white you have to run extra wire down to the headlight under the fender…pull the headlight out, the bulb for the turn signal should have two wires in the connector…one is black, one is green with a colored tracer. the white wire from the mirror goes to the green wire from the signal plug.
If the lights use LEDS then polarity matters and there is a positive and negative wire. If the lighting uses incandescent bulbs the polarity does not matter.
yea they are LEDS, well at least its what it says,i only got 2 wires left, black and white, should i go to my head light and trace the power wire down to daash and solder wires there, wondering would that kill my LEDS???another thing, i think they only light blue, is that street legal, i hear all kind of different answers for that, and i have seen alot of cars with blue markers/
