Hybrid Twin turbo build

Any reason why the genius has the radiator buttsexing the ic? :idiots

theres no Z in that shot. im saying in general. ppl build old school Z’s that way and ive seen a few silvias with the same V setup

Yeah I’m also wondering how the radiator is going to get air, pretty cool other than that.

Rad will get plenty of air if ducted correctly.

Wiggins FTW.

I see and :+1 for wiggins… damn ballers

What, ~$200 couplers too expensive for ya! ;D Worth every damn penny on a race tub.

I would like to do a wiggins set up for my radiator actually… I just don’t know if those shiny clamps are worth it. I can get the hoses/fittings for cheap… it’s the ferrules and clamps that kill.

If you do alot of R&R…yea they’re worth it. If not you’d just be wasting money better spent elsewhere. They’re a time saver for R&R at the track, and have a reliability track record that’s worth their weight in gold.

AN it is :lol

That’s fine and dandy…but I was leaning towards it cooking the air going through the ic.

Radiant heat is radiant heat, orientation does not matter. Again ducted properly it will work just fine. Ic is is going to soak no more/less heat than it would in vertical. This orientation is very common practice on JGTC cars and prep tube cars where motors are drysumped, and shoved low/back in the chassis. Other big tuners do it as well(Top Secret, JUN, etc) when shoe-horning odd swaps(RB26dett into Mk4 supra).

im more concerned with the physical contact of the aluminum. On my “cool running” car aka not a tt V8 my coolant is at 190ish and my IAT is 75… if mine were touching the IAT would skyrocket.

I’m sure it’s not touching, close, but no contact. If it is the fabricator’s an idiot for certain. But if you look at the picture the IC is standing off rubber/phenolic isolators on the sides…there’s probably at least a good 3/8" airspace between the two cores which is sufficient.
