Balls/Dedication…

rom our friends at the Axis of Oversteer comes a story of determination, fortitude, and a healthy dose of Darwinian law.

With less than a mile left in a stage of the Ralley de Serrians in France, the throttle cable in our hero’s Renault finally gives up the ghost. Does he give up? No! Does the team try to push their way to the finish? Hell no! The driver tells his co-pilot to man the wheel while he hops into the engine bay, pulls the hood over himself and then manually controls the throttle cable bracket to a heroic finish. The picture above speaks for itself, but the video after the jump tells the whole tale.

That is “all that is man”

OMG that is amazing… Those rally guys are nuts but really?

Dozr might know this but i think jon bottoms used string to finish a rally for the same reason once. Rally drivers> all other drivers.

PS Is it just me or is fear of losing a nipple the scariest thing about that?

Manly as fuck.

that is one crazy man there

Ouch, it burns!!!

wow! thats the definition of having balls right there!

That is balls over brains! Why not tire all your shoe strings together and just pull it from the window, or possibly use a long vacuum line or drain line, I think I would rip my shirt into long shreds tie them together and close the hood before I rode in the engine bay.

The fact that he can fit in the bay with the hood that closed tells me they don’t have a large enough engine in that car.

lol awesome.

Drive by cable
Drive by wire
Drive by arm

meh.

i’d like to see that on a dirt/snow course lol…with LOTS of trees…and LOTS OF PEOPLE.

THAT’D be awesome lol.

I’d like to see him not hit the rev-limiter 400 billion times.

i like that guy

thats pretty badass haha

Lol i’d like to know how he didnt fly out and get ran over when the guy hits the brakes!

fuckin awesome.

holy insane.

lol thats great

You may be able to buy a mexican child to do this for less than some replacement throttle cables cost, not a bad idea.
