It’s great photo-op, but that kid will grow up watching the world around him. He’ll watch his local news like wivb.com and see the gang/drug related shootings. He’ll watch the idiots who say no one saw anything when a 16 year old kid was shot and killed in broad daylight at a party of 50+ people. No matter how he is raised the ingrained human trait of observing patterns to predict possible future events will still happen. Regardless of his great sign exchange that kid still has a good chance to grow up noticing skin color and creating prejudices’ against them.

So why don’t we, as adults, take it as a message to treat people fairly. Just like that little boy did regardless of how he might grow up in the future. (not saying that you need that message, but there are definitely a few people on NYSpeed that do)

If your parents raise you to not value an education no amount of educational spending can save you. But without an education these kids are doomed to be ghetto trash just like their parents.

I remember a thread on here that talked about some politician from the south somewhere who wanted to offer tax cuts to lower income women to have tubal ligations. He also wanted to offer tax breaks to higher income and smarter couples who have children together. This guy may be on to something imho! If Obama cant fix things in his stint, I feel we will see more people with ideas like this. I feel that Obama is said “ghetto trash’s” last hope before we see some innovative action.

Look, it’s a great photo and it captures an amazing message. I’m just tired of the attitude of, “OMG, Obama is the president, it’s the end of racism as we know it”.

Anyone can turn racist. Seriously live in the city. Some black guy last night who told me he was going to tow my car for legally parking on a city street “infront of his house” becuase he wanted to park there. He told me he was going to call 911 becuase “You white boys always park on the street”.
Mind you, this is by Canisius. 1/2 the houses don’t have driveways and always on the street. I got out of the car and told him to call 911 becuase that would be hilarious and after he hung up and walked away bitching, I said “Just becuase Obama is in the whitehouse doesnt mean you black people control the world. He’s 1/2 white” and walked away.
Articles like this OP have a cool meaning but it takes one incident to have a 100x bigger effect on you in the other direction.
