Ghetto trash can be any race.
In the US, ghetto trash is predominantly poor black people. Sure, there are poor white people, poor hispanic people and maybe even the rare poor asian people that are part of this ghetto trash but face it, most of them are black. Their race did not predispose them to being ghetto trash, their standing in society did (lack of and lack of appreciation for education, lack of opportunity for advancement etc etc). To compound their problem a lack of education is celebrated in ghetto culture.
Get out in the country, like where I’m from, and you see a different kind of trash; white trash. Perpetual welfare recipients generation after generation. They can also be black, but the majority are white. There is a definite difference between white trash and ghetto trash though.
Thank you for proving my point that racism will continue to exist. A half black person made a racist comment, and you countered with a racist comment of your own. All despite Obama being president.
No I hear you. Those who think that this means that racism is over and affirmative action can/should/will go away are in for a sad surprise. I’m just sick of the “optimism is bad crowd.”
Still the article is awesome but there will be people of every race that think they are owed something. The pictures is just of people who are at the age before any of this makes sense.

Is the problem ghetto trash or is it white trash, or is it trash in general?
I don’t believe that white trash are any more educated, any less bias, or afforded any greater opportunities to succeed than the predominately black ghetto trash. Do you disagree or are you implying that the problems ghetto trash impose on society are greater and more prevalent than those problems white trash illicit?

I think crime statistics prove they impose more problems on society.
It all comes back to the underlying culture. You can be poor white trash and still have both self respect and respect for other people. It is far less like if you’re poor ghetto trash that you will have either, and the propensity toward violent crime proves that.

Well I kind of disagree. I don’t think its the fact that black people have no respect for others. Its the baller attitude on fixed incomes. Buffalo being a great example of this. 51% being unemployed in the city. 51% are on a fixed income whether its welfare or what ever. Ways to make more money would be to sell stolen goods, sell drugs or do what ever. Sure they could make legit money but if its recorded then they would lose benefits.
Again, its the few that make the whole race look bad. It is kind of funny seeing someone in a 2008 Range Rover parking their car in front of a low income housing, subsidized housing
If you are throwing numbers around, what % of ghetto trash are the victims of ghetto trash violent crime?
If having self respect is the equivalent of taking care of yourself, what race has the highest propensity to take advantage of welfare?
It’s simply my point that the problems of society are not race based. Since Obama is black, if nothing else, he grants us the opportunity to improve our culture’s moral and ethical intricacies. You can be a realist and you can have hope, the two are not mutually exclusive.
If you want to assume that blacks came out in record numbers to elect Obama solely on the condition of race, can you also assume that because of Obama’s race, he could turn around and impact those that would otherwise be impenetrable?

^ Don’t put words in my mouth, especially with sureshot! clearly avoiding open discussion of this topic while he goes on a witch hunt to “prove” someone is racist. I said before ghetto trash encompasses more than one race, though in the US the percentages are definitely skewed.
My hope is that an Obama presidency goes a long ways toward erasing the ghetto culture that places no value in education.
But even while I hope this is so, I doubt it will happen.

You said that because of the amount of violent crime portrayed in the media, these children that do not view color will grow up and form stereotypes that may be racist. Certainly the mind of a child is easily manipulated. While these violent crimes, these abuses of aid… or anything “negative” will continue to exist, the future of our society DOES NOT need to come to the same conclusions that we have
