I love LaDuke fails (Alero material INSIDE!)

I’m sorry Bobby and Alero2000, but my mind is on an imaginative trip right now and I must post said thread. :lol

Without further interruption:

I was driving home from work today and I noticed Alero2000’s Olds up on jack stands halfway in LaDuke’s garage. I figure great, they must be working on his turbo setup that they have been babbling about all this time. Awesome.

HOWEVER :rofl

Browsing my facebook and responding to an inbox email, I see this pop up in my news feed after I click send:

Nick Alero Bobby Jetta: Thanks for the help with the springs dude, I’m glad we got at least halfway there. . .

Nick Alero 2 springs are done. . .after over 10 hours!!!

:rofl

Did it really take you monkey-inspired meat whistle blowers over 10 HOURS!!! to install 2 coil over springs? :rofl Even more LOLLIES if it was the rear “axle beam” springs. :rofl

Okay. This can now be discussed. :number1

:ahh

holy shit ,thats a 1.5 hr long job tops

i my buddy’s 09 rabbit’s rear springs in no exaggeration 40 minutes, probably less. would have had the whole car done in <3 hrs tops if VW didn’t require some stupid tool to “split” the bottom of the strut :gay

LOL!

Good thread would read again

lol facebook tells all

i have that stupid tool by the way :tongue

i can do a mk4 suspension pretty quick.

i always used the larger snap-on screw driver or small ended pry bar on the mkiv

Holy fuck :rofl:rofl

i saw this on my way into my hood from work last night

wait for it…

wait for it…

:facepalm there it is.

same here.

with the rear shock mount bolts pointing down, the rear springs/ shocks are a 15 minute job. the only thing that can be a pita is beating the shit out of the knuckles to pull the fronts. i’ve done probably 6 or so of these.

Took me about 2.5 hours to do my shocks/struts and springs, and that was with a trip to Fastenal to get a better nut than the ones they came with.

we tried EVERYTHING to get it separated but couldn’t do it :facepalm

he ended up paying for a shop to do the fronts :lol

correct tool was only like 20 bucks. worth it to me, ive used it tons of times already

no beating necessary the spindle spreading tool opens the knuckle right up and my H&R coilover slides right out of the knuckle.

coil overs on my old gsr took two full days… thats what rust will do to ya

fuckin amazing thread!!!

HAHAHAHAHAHA…HA

theres really no need for the tool. you just need a sledge, and a prybar to open the knuckle a touch. i don’t use it.
