I need some help, please

To make a long story short, when I was home in PA in June, I sideswiped my friend Mandi’s Xterra with my rental mustang trying to pull into her narrow driveway and miss the ditch. Did nothing to the mustang but scrape up the mirror alittle (they didnt even notice), but I dented up her Xterra pretty good. Somehow the paint is fine, but the backdoor and back sidepanel is dented pretty good. I am trying to stay away from the insurance company because my insurance is already high enough without any accidents or tickets. Im willing to pay over the deductible but I can only afford so much. Is anyone (or does anyone know where) I could get this fixed near the Mon Valley? She lives in Charleroi.

Any help is greatly appreciated. I am sick over this, because I’ve never hit anything before and am pissed off at myself for misjudging the 9 foot mirror on the mustang. Here are some pics:

Paintless Dent Removal???

I plan on taking it to Kilkeary’s in 84 tomorrow morning. My stepdad has had all his work done and says they do a nice job. Anyone know anything about it?? He insists they wont be able to pump the dent out cause it’s so big. We’re just basically looking for a reasonable place that’ll get the job done right.

:blue: Dude!!! Your gonna love this!!! Take a hairdryer or a heat gun and heat up the dented area. Dont go melting or bubbling paint but just so its like warm, almost hot to the toucth! Then, take a can of compressed air, like the onse you use on your computer and stuff, turn it upside down and spray the heated dent so it ices over and gets frost on it, then sit there and watch the dent pop out. Its the coolest thing ever. It works. It will not damage the paint or anything. I did it on my car when ym mom backed up into me, and it worked like a charm.:itr41:

exactly what i was gonna say.

hmm don’t really think I wanna try that. I didn’t pay 26k for a car to rig a dent out of the body. Plus I’m a girl and I’m lucky I know how to put gas and washer fluid in the thing, let alone stand in my driveway with a hairdryer and compressed air. My neighbors would think I’m retarded!

Kilkearys will do a great job… They are a really good shop. I know the original owner Bill fairly well… him and my father are really good friends. He has since sold it to his son. Just like anything else… its definatly not going to be cheap by any means, but it will look better than new. Hope it all works out for ya!

You’d be surprised. But if you’re going to have a shop do it, Kilkeary’s or Robert’s.

Seriously. I had a small crack in the plastic on the monte carlo and it was almost a grand. Needless to say 4 years later the crack is still there.

pm sent.

Sorry Mark, I must have written that wrong. It was going to be over a grand to fix it, so I decided to just live with the crack in there.

+1 for paintless dent repair.

They can do some pretty impressive stuff on the cheap.

lol… yeah I forgot for a second and thought we fixed it… thats why I sent you a PM saying id take care of it for free no problem. I do remember tho… the monte bumpers are soooo expensive. The one with the appearance package is $1126 or something ridiculas like that for just the front cover from GM. Now that I think about it, I think I told you to just let it go because it wasn’t worth the money to fix it

thtas great customer service :bigthumb:

thats great customer service :bigthumb:

Thanks  There is one thing I do understand and thats no one is perfect, we make mistakes also, everyone is human, but there is no way we will let something like that go if it did happen. For how expensive this industry is… the job has to be right.
