its also not just aluminum. they use it on the engine mounts on the planes everytime and engine comes out, and various parts of the landing gear, wing areas, (flap and slat tracks). all part of the Non Destructive Inspection process. and also on the Ejection seat, ejection gun barrels( i was a seat guy)
Oh yea they use it on alotta parts, pretty interesting stuff.
slp and bassani or borla…
SLP makes good stuff…but their header design absolutely blows compared to every other long tube header company for the LS1
dilorenzos off grooms road… from the south head north on 87 get off grooms road exit hang a left(from the north head south on 87 and get off the same exit and take a right) their a couple miles down on the left. past the stewarts its about a half mile to a mile on the left you have to look for the sign its not very visable somtimes theres some shrub growth over it. charlie will hook you up hes a kick ass mechanic. it cant hurt to talk to him and have him look at it, he put my headers/exhaust on my stang and he also does custom. 518-383-0608 ask for charlie jr i would call first and tellem what the issue is and find out when he can look at it. his prices are compareable but i find the service is much more in depth then what you would get at a dealer or other shops ive done business with.
i heard their headers are pretty decent but i figured it was in general not specific… i know the reason i didnt get slp headers was because they didnt make shortys for my mustang and i knew long tubes would be a whore to install… … i ended up with midlength cobra headers anyway and the guy that installed them told me their were the biggest pain in the nuts… thats what i get for ordering over the phone.
What year is yours?
04 gt competition orange… cops love it lol :lol
Nice, your on the AUG site arent ya?
im trying to get in with hank right now, if he cant get me in i’ll def call the guy, always nice to know that theres some people out there that do quality work, and a header install on my car will be a cake walk copared to a mustang, dont you have to drop the k member?
Alot of companies want you to drop the k member for the mustangs but you can do it without dropping it. Me and my buddy did his 2V, was a pita, but not too bad. You should take a peek at my 94 when i get it out, ill show ya how easy it is to do headers on that lol, 15-20mins!!! Were putting a QA1 Tubular K member in my buddies which will make installation a breeze, and drops alotta weight.
yep, avitar gave me away lol :ninja
haha yea it did.
broken bolt is out. :headbang threads r fixed :nod, frame ties almost all buttoned up :wow and new exhausted to be installed at sum point tomarrow. ;D
just a lil friendly update!!! :crackup
if you dont mind…how much would a header install go for??? Im thinking about just having a shop install my headers/Y pipe since I don’t hafto deal with the hassle…
don’t know, right this moment. let me see how long it takes to install this one.
this one shouldn’t be too bad, minus the broken bolts. but everything else was already off.
i know there was sum header alignment problems per plaf. but have not made it that far to see how bad and what needs to be done to correct the alignment of it.
Hank = the awesome
thanks again for helping me out
the alingment happened with all of these brand headers, for whatever reason the diver side collector points upwards towards the cabin, it wouldnt be sucha problem if there were a frame rail of some sort right behind it, it makes it almost impossible to try and get the y pipe on. Most ls1 headers do not have this problem though.
so you got it fixed?
Hanks almost done, went there last night to drop off some liquid courage for him and things were looking good.
Nice, now youll realy br pullin on the orangish-yellow car lol
