I suppose I'm a ricer now

Well I picked up a 2012 Honda Civic Coupe LX on a lease, and just wanted to do a few things to make it “my own”. Never thought I’d own a Honda to be honest, but it is a really nice car (Just slow as shit) and great on gas.

I hate stock quiet cars so I threw an axleback on it that I got for $70 but am kinda cringing at the giant can just hanging below my bumper. Since it is only an axleback, it isn’t loud and obnoxious at all, very subtle which is what I wanted … except … appearance-wise not so subtle. :Idiots Not sure what I’m gonna do about it without spending much money. :dunno

Threw some Red “H” badges on it, put some HID’s in the headlights and replaced the halogen 9005 DRL’s with LED’s … and that’s it.

I may get a nice set of 17’s or 18’s next year, and throw some springs on it so it doesn’t look like I’m going off roading, but since it’s a lease, not doing anything else as I will end up removing it all in 3 years anyways.

For now, just have 2 pictures.

And just fooling around in Photoshop…

Definitely a ricer with that muffler on there. If it’s a lease you should throw a giant shot of nitrous at the motor. Nevermind the Johnny Tran exhaust treatment.

NITROUS FTW

Please take the muffler off and put it back to stock… hahah

so let me get this straight… you made your self a ricer… ugh

Take the exhaust off. If you really want an exhaust, get something that isn’t the overplayed fart can style.

:rofl

Just gut the cat if you want it to sound like a street bike.

Pretty sure I passed you the other day, and even in the day light your HIDS were horrendous in the stock housings. I agree with everyone else, ditch the exhaust… Other than that I like the car, have a '12 Si sedan myself.

Wait… your leasing a car and modding it? :ponder

Why bother blowing money on it at all? Dumbest thing I’ve ever heard.

Well I’ve spent $150 on it. Not all that drastic to fret about for the next 3 years IMO. (And the HID Kit I can always keep using). The $70 I spent on the can will probably end up in the garbage next week anyways :Idiots. If I get wheels, I can always re-use them as well. Kinda makes me wish I still had my wheels from my first car.

Think I’m just gonna fab up a small muffler and angled down tip like the stock exhaust so it’s hidden under the bumper. The car is pretty quiet with the fart can, but I can’t deal with it hanging there like that. Installed it yesterday in the rain, it’ll probably be getting uninstalled on my next day off. :crackup

If you dont like the muffler, pawn it off to someone, put stock muff back on and do a cat delete. You will actually see some gains, make a little bit of noise, looks stock, and completely reversible. Just have to run an o2 defouler, and you shouldnt see any CELs either. Looks like they run from $100-200 for the r18.

It’s a nice economical car don’t try to make it into something it’s not. Ditch the muffler, take the HID’s out of the reflector housing and spend your cash on wheels or a stereo upgrade if you must.

I stopped caring about my car or spend money on it since I started riding. I can’t even remember the last time I wash it. :rofl

If you have money to burn, get another bike. That’s what I did…:rofl

Who’d you lease/buy from at Mohawk? My brother works there in sales.

same here lol, once I got into bikes thats all my money goes to saving up for small mods and also saving for a second bike lol, except I still detail my car once a week.

You can still get those style mufflers lol? Those were way out of style when i stopped modding cars and stuff a good 5 years ago lol
