Took the bike over to DE Twin Cam on Broadway for the Dyno Day (http://nyspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=70213&highlight=dyno+day). The bike was dyno tuned by the previous owner, it put down 157hp I think, somewhere in that neighborhood. After my winter mods I wanted to get it re tuned because I thought it was running a bit rich. I was the last bike to go, I was super nervous because I thought the 1000rr would have put a hurtin on me.
We made the baseline runs, bike’s a/f ratio wasn’t horrible but it did have it’s blips especially down low, around 3k then again around 9k. After half a dozen or so pulls it’s best was 149hp / 73 tq. Not bad. We let it cool down a bit then he started tuning. He cleaned up the problems down low and near 9k and another half a dozen pulls or so later he was happy. The graph is fantastic and my a/f ratio is amazing. Couldn’t be happier. I also picked up 3hp for a final of 152.78/75.25.
Big thanks to Driftg35, Jason for putting this together and also to Dave for the tuning. So happy to have it tuned and the piece of mind that it’s running 100%. Dave’s got a great shop down there and is super nice.
Jason can get into specifics if he doesn’t mind but if memory serves me the 1000rr was an 06 with 2 bros pipe, filter, power commander and down a tooth in the front. The 03 r1 was full exhaust, filter, power commander and pipe. The 1000rr put down 140hp/68tq and the r1 was 141hp/69tq. I wish I saw the 1000rr, I wanted to drool on it lol.
We also did a top speed run to see how far the speedos were off, my gauge read 189 and the dyno said 179, not bad for being down a tooth up front IMO. The other bikes were off my 10 or 12 mph as well. The 1000rr had a lower top speed and the r1 didn’t get to do it, but I think he may have gotten me possibly because he had an extra 1000 rpm over myself and the 1000rr.
On with the pics.
