wow that thing looks pretty cool. built backwards though! looks like fun to work on also

pretty interesting

whoa…

i can only guess the reason why bmw engineers went with this design is to reach packaging and emissions goals that theyd have a hard time doing if they went any other route. I bet an fmic woulda been a better idea performance wise, at least for the street, but i do however love the Vbands everywhere and direct injection is a nice touch!

direct injection is sweet

V-Band FTW. Crazy idea to put the exhaust ports on the head on the inside. I can only imagine how hot that engine bay will get with 0 air passing over the turbos.

Isn’t the direct injection going to add substantial noise to the motor?

going to need some serious underhood insulation and venting…

cool design though.

those thigns spooling will soudn badass… and almost insta spool…

i doubt it will be very loud if u know BMW the motors are pretty vacuum cleaner ish @ stock setup… the 335i its almost impossible to hear them spooling in stock form

what I see is the option to build a manifold for a large single turbo with ease…

GM is doing the same thing with their 4.5l diesel.

What do you mean?

all diesels are direct injection…

I THINK HE MEANS THE TURBO PLACEMENT?

MAYBE?

the 6.6 duramax has the turbo on top as well…so does the ford powerstroke.

either way.

danm cool engine.

Looks like it would be a fun e30 swap…

LOL.

looks nice, but i do not like the oil pump set up.
