introduction to the 240sx

the sticker on your door is the gross weight (for you noobs, that means curb weight + maximum passenger and cargo weight). it’s not what your car actually weighs.

every trim is different, there is no one single weight. i figure the range goes from something like 2600 (stripper coupe) to 2900 pounds (loaded to the tits s14).

1989-1994 240SX Specifications
Wheelbase: 97.4 in.
Front/Rear Track: 57.7 in./57.5 in.
Ground Clearance: 4.3 in.
Curb Weight ('90 SE/'91 Standard): 2684 lbs./2657 lbs.
Length: 178.0 in.
Width: 66.5 in.
Height: 50.8 in.

So you’re at about 3,200 lbs.

How about instead of spending a pile of money to save 10lbs, you just toss the big sub boxes to the curb?

A light flywheel has its ups and downs, if you don’t know what they are, you shouldn’t be looking for one.

Light flywheel on torque motor makes little to no sense. Yess, you do free up some weight, but unless you’re quick with your feet you’re really not going to notice anything, and give up some torque too.

If you want the motor to rev free-er, toss AC, PS, clutch fan, and as much weight out of the car you can.

Switch to light 15" wheels with light tires and toss everything unnecessary out of the car.
