Damn, to bad I’m going to ohio to pick up my Contour SVT Saturday. I’m taking my ZX2 off the road that day also. I really did want to know what my it would run in the 1/4. I know it’s not nearly as fast as a lot of your cars but it would still be fun to watch all you guys run. I would be willing to bet I’m in the mid to high 14’s tho. O well, guess I have to wait till next spring to back that statement up. :stuck_out_tongue:

How much boost was that run on Bill? What did you end up doing with your converter? I’m losing quite a bit up top just like you were before…

And what turbo are you running again?

I’m going to try to get my car down there again at some point before the year ends…

boost was about 16-17psi. quite a bit more left in the tank boost/powerwise, but i still have a good amount of work at this boost to do as far as launching/sticking. tires are on the back 9 for sure and comparing time slips im spinning pretty good

we went to a bigger converter, 10-10.5" i think, and took 1000rpms out of it. still blew right through it at xx psi and (#) rwhp, but i’m not going to rip it out until wintertime. i’m not sure what stall speed it is, but it’s significantly tighter, which why its taking me a bit of effort to adjust and get it launching hard again. It holds well though at the current boost. it starts stalling at high 2’s i think, but obviously you know with the turbo, it can be hard to tell the “stall speed”

I had a good time there today also,i was a dumbass though and forgot my lugnuts for the drag radials so i had to run street tires.Still ran a half way decent 60 ft 1 run of 1.8 and a 12.4.Oh well there always next year.

Also bill your car seemed that it needs the converter alittle looser at the line.It seemed to take awhile to come up in boost,dont get me wrong that thing fing moves.Just seemed like you didnt get full boost untill past the 60 ft mark.Also if you are having trouble getting the right converter for your car theres a guy that does alot of the converters for the turbo buick guys and evrybody praises him for getting it right the first time,his name is Dusty Bradford,I think he runs a ls turbo car also.Hes not local but if you want to get in contact with him i could get you his info.

thanks for the suggestion man. i was making pretty crude adjustments with the 2 step because the converter is new to me. the converter is tight but i definitely need all of it. infact, on higher boost, i’m still blowing through. i have a lot i can do with the 2-step to overcome/compensate for the stiff stall, so im not too much in a hurry to ditch this one. i’ve had a total of about 6 runs on this stall

I’m on a 9.5" 3600 stall now and it seems like I’m blowing through it as well. With the one time I went to the track, I gained .4s and 2-3 mph in the eighth but lost 7-8 mph in the 1/4. Didn’t make much sense. I figured with me being a rear mount that I would gain ET and mph in the 1/4 due to no boost loss b/t shifts anymore. I’m pretty sure mine is too loose as well but it’s hard to tell. I still have yet to cut better than a 1.70 either… I think a 2 step will be necessary for me as well.

Oh and I’m running a 4L80e.
