Don’t hold back. Bush was PUT there becuase of who his father was. Let the lower class die for nothing. And Cheney only shoots people with bird shot, which is not supplied in the Armed forces, so he didn’t want to join.
if we won why the fuck are we still there???
vested interest by bush, thats why
alot of people are profiting from this war… and the ones profiting are not the ones dying and putting their lives in jeapordy.
This is kinda funny to read. Since ive gone to school ive stopped reading the times union and BS like that and instead read BBC online (which everyone should agree is pretty balanced). More importantly I talk with people who have been to Iraq 3, 2, 1 years ago along with some who are on their way over in a few months. Some of this commentary and political crap is just that… crap.
By no means am I saying that everything was perfect and cherry, but when you talk with people who had a job to do in that country you get a new respect for what exactly is going on. No one is just standing around on street corners over there, business is getting done.
It’s pretty goddamn funny to me that politicians think they can institute a democracy within tribal nations… These people have been killin each other since before the word democracy was defined. LMAO at going into an uneducated nation-state, divided into several factions fighting over land and tellin them to get along. BTW whatever happen to bin-laden? The american public has widespread ADHD. One distraction to the next…
been there… why are we still there. know one knows. my friend who got blown up by a road side IED didnt know either, but hes not here to tell his side of the story anymore… hopefully 2009 holds more for us as a nation, because 2008 is off to a horrible start. :angry2
hey untill there outta oil well be there
2008 has gone better than 2007. Maybe we’ll have some more progress in 2009… isn’t that why we are there, progress?
What year were you there, where were you stationed and with who?
One of my friends were ambushed on a convoy. He was a Mechanic riding along with a bunch of goverment contracted drivers to move supplies. These guys are getting paid thousands to drive and if something breaks, our troops have to stay behind with the truck like sitting ducks to either fix it or defend it until they can get another truck out to take the cargo. He got lucky and was only wounded and no one was killed. Our single shot/ 3 round burst M16s are no match for the string of lead that burns out of AK47s
hey guys
i believe we should stay until we are done with what we need to do there
i do agree we should’ve put more of our focus on Afghanistan than Iraq, this is coming from a member of the armed forces
and i will admit i did vote for GW both times
but feel he has had a shitty 2nd term.
and that McCain is the best man for the job while the other 2 want to pull out no pun intended ;D
u cant cut and run/hide from something you started uhave to finish what u started!!! :idiots
Dont pull out… bust in
I served active duty AF. I support the war but not how its beeing conducted. I think that after all our time there it will still become a dictatorship after we finally pull out for good. It wont be the next day but it will happen.
And I never voted for G.W.Bush. His dad was a dick and he’s an idiot. I dont like anybody who is running now but I think any of them could do a better job than either Bush
Sean, we should get tom on here, hes been in iraq, kuwait and just about everywhere since… 04-05, almost non-stop tours with only about a month break every 1.5 yrs. but he loves it… BTW BUSH…GO FUCK YOURSELF
I know a few Marines that come back from Iraq and cant wait to go back. I think they are fucked up for life but somebody has to do it
No one HAS to to it, no one has to fight a pointless war, nor should we
If people didnt volunteer you could bet your ass there would be a draft again
What do you mean “no one HAS to do it”?
Its their job, if the government makes the choice to go to war, they HAVE to do it. They signed up for it so i’m sure they’re not going to hate it, and if they were to take your attitude and say “I’m not doing it, it’s pointless i quit”…Dishonorable discharge is one of the worst things to have if you ever try to get another good job.
other than honorable isnt too much better from what I hear. A friend of mine was discharged after 2 DWIs with an other than honorable discharge and he says it makes life shity
Tom nuts…he would do it all by himself if he could…but thats what we need…
Al Asad AB, Kabul, Iraq. 2007. deployed from USS Eisenhower as part of a joint forces strike group. thats more than enough information.
Thats interesting, I think my sister flew out of there 2006. I didnt know that the navy had people on the ground there.
the navy is all over, my friend just did 7 months in Afghanistan, deployed as an IA, or individual augmentee, he was part of an army battallion, as a intercommunications tech.
